From Balewadi,Pune-15 August,2010

Its been a few weeks since I updated,so felt I should give a quick update to everyone.I am here in Pune for the final team selection Camp for the CWG 2010. While the Camp itself was supposed to begin on the 2nd August, the actual one didnt start till the 5th and in earnest till the 8th august. I have been in Pune since the 4th August with my parents and Sahana.
When you reside in the US, you tend to stick to schedules and times. In India, its a different ball game. Not that I didnt know about it, I have just forgotton these things. And in the sports field, its probably even worse.
All said and done, our camp has been quite enjoyable. This is what a tennis nut woould call a tennis retreat. There are no tvs and no internet in the rooms. we play about 5 hrs of tennis a day and then hit the gym. We also have a trainer, physio and a masseur for ther team. Ten years back, this was unheard of.
My tennis itself has gotton sharper. We also have the best coaches in the country to get us sharp. My team mates in the camp have also been a lot of fun. After such a long break, I am able to appreciate the time that I get here and am truly enjoying the tennis apsects of this camp.
My parents have been a huge help as keeping Sahana occupied and busy isnt easy here. She takes long walks witht hem int he sports complex and goes flower picking everyday. Sahana was particularly thrilled about seeing small frogs and worms that wander about in the rainy season.
I think we will have another week here before the team gets selected. We have been playing some matches here to gauge our levels.I am keeping my fingers crossed...
